About this blog and our cause
this picture is from www.guatemalastoveproject.org
This blog is to let everybody know about what my mom (Leslie) and I (Rowan) are doing while we are down in Guatemala with the Guatemala Stove Project.
The Guatemala Stove Project is about helping the people in Guatemala’s Altiplano (Western Highlands). The family’s lungs are filled with smoke and the mothers risk becoming blind from the smoke.
When I heard about this I didn’t want this to continue but the stoves they make can add 10-15 years onto their life expectancy. I also heard that people can go down there to help build the stoves and I wanted to help do that. So after quite awhile my mom agreed and this is where we have ended up.
If you want to find out more about our cause you can visit http://www.guatemalastoveproject.org/ and we (my mom and I) are going to try to upload some photos and update the blog as often as we can.

What a wonderful experience to share with your Mom. Have a great time!
Hey Rowan,
I am always impressed with young people like yourself, who can see the needs in our society and ecourage others ( like your parents) to do what you have done and are doing. I am sure the people who are benefiting from the new stoves are very thankful.
Keep up the Good Work!
